I have had this game for many years and just upgraded to a new computer, when I load the company of hero's game no problem playing, When I loaded the tales of valor dvd I can only play the game after I insert the DVD I don't have a DVD player so I have to plug in the external one, never had to install the disk before.This should be your intention too, as a user, to fully evaluate Company of Heroes without restrictions and then decide.
As long as you've got at least one of the CD keys associated with your reliconline account you should be able to get up and running on steam relatively easily.
The downside of this, especially for you with shit for internet.
Is that you'll have to redownload the entire game via steam.

I'd love to be able to play some Co H, but sadly I took my Got Y edition of Co H1 and got it installed. Once I run the game though it goes to the validating media piece and cannot find my dang disc (which is still in the drive). The version i have came out before the move to steam so I was holding out hope! What about us unlucky folk who cant download 9 gigs in a reasonable time? First, we are going to overcome the problems of manually patching the game from Company of Heroes Opposing Fronts expansion pack onwards.
Alot less time than it takes to find a no-cd key and or manual updates. Download/Open Steam and you can take your CD-Key and activate there. As far as your shit for internet problem...might be quicker to mail your HDD home and have someone do it for you...
