All other launch and takeout points on Village Creek are intact, so paddling on the creek is still possible, just not in the park. Several outfitters and guide services can help with your adventure. Fish in Village Creek for catfish, bass and sunfish. You do not need a fishing license to fish from shore in a state park!
The park sits along Village Creek, one of the few free-flowing creeks in Texas.
Here you can camp, picnic, fish, hike, mountain bike, swim, geocache, study nature and view wildlife.

Rent our covered picnic pavilion for your next group gathering. We offer guided nature and night hikes, stargazing programs, campfire talks and other activities throughout the year. Contact the park at least two weeks in advance to request special programs for a group. Experience more nature at the Big Thicket National Preserve and the Roy E. You’ll find museums and historic homes, as well as art galleries, theatres and concert venues, within easy driving distance.
